Blackjack University teaches blackjack the way advantage players play it: basic strategy first, then card counting, then count-based deviations. Every decision you make is graded against the best play available.
Need help, found a bug, or think a hint is wrong?
Email mert.ustunkaya@youngobject.com. Include your device, its iOS version, and the table rules you were playing if it is about a hint or a grade.
Getting around
Deal a hand and play it. Every decision is graded against the best play for the shoe as it stands. On iPhone, the four tabs at the bottom open as a drawer over the table; tap the tab again, or anywhere on the table, to put it away. On iPad they sit beside the table.
Questions
Is there any betting in this app?
No. There is nothing to stake, no chips, no balance and no betting systems, and there are no in-app purchases. You are dealt a hand, you decide how to play it, and the app tells you whether that decision was the best one available for the cards still in the shoe.
What do the numbers next to a grade mean?
Expected value, measured in units. Saying a play “costs 0.214 of a unit” means that, averaged over every way the hand can finish, choosing it instead of the best play gives up 21.4% of one hand’s value. Open the Hint tab and choose Show EV to see the figure for every play available.
I won the hand, so why was my play marked as a mistake?
Grades are about the decision, not the outcome. Each play is priced by its expected value against the cards still unseen, and a play that gives up value is a mistake even when the cards bail you out.
Why did the hint change from the basic strategy chart?
Hints are calculated from the cards actually left in the shoe. When the count moves far enough, the best play changes, and the game tells you it is a count deviation rather than basic strategy.
How do I keep the count myself?
Tap the running count button at the top of the table to hide it. Keep your own count as the cards land, then open the Count tab to check yourself.
How do I change the rules or start over?
Open the Table tab. Choose a table preset to change the rules, or reset the session to start again from zero. Past sessions stay in your progress history.
Where is my progress saved? Can I move it to another device?
Your settings and history are saved only on the device you play on. There is no account and no cloud sync, so progress does not move between devices, and deleting the app deletes it.
How do I turn the sound off?
Open the Table tab and switch off sound effects, or turn down the volume there.
Which devices are supported?
iPhone and iPad running iOS or iPadOS 15 or later. iPhone plays in portrait; iPad plays in any orientation.
Does the app collect my data?
No. It works offline and collects nothing. See the privacy policy.
